BrewHardware June Newsletter and Product Update
 Wow... our customers have really been keeping us busy here at BrewHardware. We've been recognizing a lot of names on incoming orders and we really appreciate the repeat orders and loyalty.
In the past month, we've been aggressively adding new products and bringing in larger quantities to ensure constant stock. If you haven't been to the website lately, you may be surprised how many new items have been added. Our mission for the near future is to be your one-stop shop for all brewing hardware needs. If we're missing that mark, please tell us how to improve for you.
The first thing we wanted to mention was the addition of several new articles or "guides" to help you select the best group of accessories. While we think that brewing setups, accessories and their placement vary wildly based on personal preferences, we've received countless requests to "just tell me what I need". While we can't go that far, we recognized the need for things like a keg conversion guide, which looks at ball valve drain, thermometer and sight glass placement on a sanke keg. We also wrote a bit about choosing between weldless and weld-on fittings since this topic often causes a little decision paralysis. Take a look at the guides and let us know if you'd like to see more and what specific topics are of interest.
Next, let's take a look at some of the newest product additions:
Plate Chiller Model: platelong $141
This is a LONG, 304 stainless heat exchanger with integrated garden hose connections for the water side and 1/2" male NPT on the wort side to offer the most connection flexibility possible. Actual dimensions, 12" long with 3" wide plates. Rather than offer a bunch of different sizes and plate counts, this is the one we use so we can't help but recommend it. You will find cheaper plate chillers out there, but don't be fooled by the 40, 50, 60 plate varieties. They are not the same length as this one. Adding more plates only allows you to flow the liquids faster but the length is where you get cooling efficiency (less water used). Note, our price also includes two stainless mounting wingnuts to attach to your brew stand.

Big TimerModel: BigTimer - $12
This timer is such an obvious practical addition to your brewery that we're embarrassed that we didn't think to offer them sooner. The first thing you're probably thinking is that you can just use the stopwatch timer on your iPhone. Then again, do you really want to get your $400 device involved with tanks of liquid? Spend the $12 and mount this thing somewhere near your brewery and leave it there. The back has a strong magnet for attachment to metal, it also has a hang loop to put on a hook and a stand so that it will sit upright on a shelf. It's about the size of a business card.

Heavy Wall Silicone TubingModel: Silicone - $2.39 /ft + Discounts for longer lengths

BrewHardware.com recommends silicone tubing for all your fluid transfer needs. This extremely flexible tubing is FDA rated for food contact up to 400F and doesn't melt until 500F. The inside diameter is 1/2" and the wall thickness is 1/8" for a total OD of 3/4".
Why not use the clear reinforced PVC from Lowes? Go ahead and hack off a 2" piece and steep it in some boiling water. Let the water cool and give it a taste.
