Model: SB - $14.95
This kit is a specialty item that I made up after getting several requests to do so. It is simply a polycarbonate sight tube threaded into a stainless bushing with 1/2" NPT male threads. One use is to make your own thermometer/sight glass setup with your own 1/2" TEE and thermometer.
Includes:
- 19" Polycarbonate Tubing rated to 250F.
- Stainless Hardware
- Black Vinyl Numbers for each gallon mark from 2 to 15.
- Note: You must supply your own eyebolt because the length is dependent on how recessed the coupling was welded in.
Install Requirements:
- This kit requires that you already an assembly of parts installed in your vessel that would present a vertical 1/2" NPT female thread to thread this unit into. I thread the tubing into the bushing at a 2-3 degree angle so as to compensate for any slight variance in your welded solution. As you thread it in, it will go from leaning away for the kettle to leaning towards the kettle, etc. You simply stop turning when it's most appropriate for your situation. Please do not complain that I didn't thread the tubing in straight. This is part of the design to make it fit any situation.
- Put a few turns of teflon tape on the threads of the sightglass bushing and thread it in the fitting is snug and leak free.
Options:
None. The standard calibration numbers included with this kit is 2-15 gallons. If you have a slightly larger vessel than 15 gallons, you can also add an extension strip that will add numbers 16-25 as well as 24 smaller arrows for 1/2 gallon increments below. If you would like to substitute 5-60 numbers for Litres, you must select "substitute 5-60 litres" in the dropdown below and click the "add to cart" button separately.

It is also highly recommended that you add at least one 20" long, 1/4" diameter nylon brush to your order for occassional cleaning of the interior of the entire sight tube (use with water or your favorite kettle cleaning detergent). $3.25

Also, Bobby ships fast and the stickers are cool too!
I used allot of different ones in the past
going to use these on all the builds now on
Shipping to Australia took no time at all and everything received and put to use straight away.
If I had one suggestion it would be for individual numbers 1 through 50 as an add-on for Litre-Brewers (like Australia.)
As it is mine looks great with the add-on 5-60, the higher numbers being every 5 litres with arrows in between for each litre. Awesome stuff, thank you, all the best.
