This Electric brew in a bag package is built off the popular Bayou Classic Model 1440 - 10 gallon capacity which measures 15" diameter x 16" high (including the lid handle). The 10 gallon capacity is adequate for 5.5 gallon finished batch sizes with a maximum original gravity of 1.090. This version of the electric package is ideal for users that have no access to a 240 volt circuit and still want to brew electric. The dual elements put a total of 3300 watts into the kettle which provides a nice rolling boil without any need for a controller. You will need to plug each element into unique 15 amp household circuits. The use of extension cords is OK but make sure they are at least 14 gauge or otherwise rated for 15 amps. We've found that simply insulating the sides and top of the pot during the mash is usually enough to maintain temperature during the mash but you may want to plug ONE of the elements in and stir the mash at the 30 minute mark to top the heat off. Alternatively you can plug ONE of the elements into our Inkbird IPB-16 PID controllers and leave that running during the mash.

You'll find the price of this package to be comparable to other popular single vessel brewing systems like the Mash and Boil, and No-pump Robobrew but the heat times are exactly half as long and you will actually achieve a rolling boil. It takes 29 minutes to reach strike temperature and then only 19 minutes to reach a boil after the mash.

This is a great compromise between price and build quality. These DO have volume measurements stamped into the back side of the pot, visible on the inside.
