If you have an externally facing 1.5" TC port on your pot but nothing on the inside to connect to, this press fit unit is a no brainer for getting an accessory installed on the inside while maintaining a low profile.

The press fit adapter starts with a piston sized to fit inside the bore of a 1.5" TC port (approximately 1-3/8"). It has two oring grooves that contain silicone orings. When a thin coating of keg lube is applied to the orings, you can press the piston into the TC port on the inside of the pot and it will hold whatever position you leave it in. The center of this piston is drilled and tapped to 1/2" NPT female threads on one side. If you face the threaded end inside the kettle, you can then thread in any accessories with 1/2" male NPT threads. The application we had in mind was a locline recirculation assembly but use your imagination.

Please note that we do not recommend that this fitting be used as the only blockage to a TC port in a vessel. In other words, there should always be another TC fitting on the exterior of the vessel.

If the entrance to the interior of the port is sharp or has some weld material protruding into bore area of the fitting, the fitting may not slide in or the orings my be nicked or torn. In those cases, it may be better to press it in from the outside where the TC port is more consistent and smooth. It helps to get the oring started into the bore by gently rotating the fitting while you push.

We've been upfront about our general distaste for loading up homebrew sized brewing vessels with TC ports due to their cost and lack of accessory flexibility, but we've finally been broken down. We get calls every day asking how to put accessories into a TC port.

One less Tri-clamp and sized to fit perfectly in the ferrule.  Genius idea!   And allows you to rotate whatever fitting you screw into this piece.  Oh, and it is modestly priced for the value it gives.
