Omega Yeast Labs offers home brew pitches of select strains containing about 150 billion viable yeast cells at packaging. The pack is similar to Wyeast's smack pack but instead of the nutrient pack, you get 50% more yeast.
Liquid Yeast Freshness Policy: Omega Labs print a packaging date on all packs Although we treat our yeast with extreme care and keep it refrigerated in a commercial fridge at 35F the whole time we have it, we take conservative approach as a courtesy to our customers. Any liquid yeast pack that turns 4 months old gets moved to our clearance yeast grab bag bin. It is removed from inventory so if you're buying it it will be younger than 4 months on the purchase date.
As you can imagine, keeping up with aging packs is pretty tedious so there may be times when you order a pack and we find it to be over the 4 month date. If that happens, we will contact you. In other words, you'll never get an old pack from us out of the blue.
