Description

This Taprite unit is a high quality single pressure secondary regulator. This is what you'd use if you already have a single pressure regulator on your CO2 tank but want to have one additional pressure option. This regulator will take an intermediate pressure of 30 psi (for example) and break it down to separate lower pressure. We special ordered an entire pallet of these regulators specifically to offer them with a check valve, ball valve, MFL output which was previously unavailable anywhere. We despise fixed hose barb ports on regulators because there is no flexibility for other fittings, hose removals, etc.

1/4" Male Flare (MFL) output with built in shutoff ball valve with anti-backflow check valve.
The horizontal ports on the left and right side are 1/4" Female NPT. These ports are the higher pressure side of the regulator (up to 120psi).

One of these ports will serve as the regulator input and will be fed from a primary regulator that has been stepped down to at most 120 psi but probably more realistically 20-30psi.
The remaining port can be plugged or a 1/4" MNPT nipple can be inserted to couple or link to additional secondary units. Finally this port can also be used to feed any other device you want. This statement generates a lot of questions so we'll elaborate. If you have a primary regulator on your CO2 and run say 30psi over to this secondary, the other horizontal port will give you the same 30psi out. One use of this higher pressure would be to run a Seltzer water tap or to provide a quick carbonation output for newly filled kegs, etc.... while the secondary output could be more like 10psi which can be split to multiple other kegs.

We are offering this bare bones regulator with the understanding that many people either want to build their configuration from scratch or use it to augment and existing secondary bank with additional pressure output.

You WILL need to thread in 1/4" male NPT devices into both side ports. Here are some options:

1/4" MNPT x 1/4" hose barb (for permanent hose connectivity)
1/4" MNPT x 1/4" Male Flare (MFL) if you want to be able to connect a hose with a FFL hose barb swivel on it.
- Note: The above can be adapted for use with EVAbarrier tubing by threading on the "pushFFL" duotight fitting.
1/4" MNPT Ball Valve (for a valved output accessory port).
1/4" Male NPT plug (if you don't have any output/thru plans for the second horiztonal port)
