Description

No more rusty element bases after two batches! No, we're not the first company to offer these to the homebrewing market, but we are offering the best price by far. This element will make 1500 watts at 120 volts. The length of the element from the hex flange to the tip is 9 inches. At 1500 watts, the watt density is approximately 70 watts per square inch making it an ULWD element. which would be fine for a RIMS tube application (12" RIMS tube required).

1500 watts on 120 volts will draw a little over 12 amps. For that reason, you can use a typical 15 amp circuit. This wattage is just enough to bring 2.5 gallons to a rolling boil or 3 gallons to a simmer. You will not be happy with this if you plan to boil 6 gallons for a 5 gallon finished batch size. A PAIR of these elements will boil 7 gallons.

The base on this unit stainless steel and will not rust. The threads are standard 1" NPSL like 99% of the elements you'll find out there. Weldless installs such as with our EWL enclosure kits will require a 1.25" hole in your vessel.

Note: the manufacturing process causes some heat discoloration on the stainless and they are not polished or visually stunning in any way. While we typically like our equipment to look shiny as possible, this item is more about durability and function.

MADE IN THE USA.

Used for a sous vide cook, with the hotrod, and it performed extremely well.  I had my DIY sous vide set at 135 degrees for 60 hours.

5 of 5 Dual 110v E BIAB system with the Hot Pods July 9, 2017
Reviewer: Michael Larson from Port Orange, FL United States
Well after several months of reading and video watching I finally decided to go electric. I didn't really have room in my box for another 220v ,so I ran one dedicated 15 amp line to my brew bar and tapped into another 15 amp breaker I had my bar lights running to along with 2-15 amp gcfi.
Pretty sweet it got to mash temp in about 15 min.
Did my 60 mash
Then it took about 15 min to reach boil.
Max temp with both going is about 215 degrees, boiled for an hour, chilled to 70 and dropped in my conical...blam
No controller,I just plug it in then unplugged when I reached temp.

The Hot Pods are the bomber too...I seen several ideas on how to wire up the elements, this was a piece of cake.
Thanks Bobby

5 of 5 Works in Atwood RV 10 gal water heater May 2, 2017

Better than OEM.  Had to double up the o-ring to get a seal but heats great.  Good quality.  Threw away the cheap junk that didn't work.

This is actually for a 1500 watt long.  Bobby set me straight and convinced me the RIMs body can fit the long.  And, it was a perfect recommendation.
