It doesn't actually stack well, never carry stacked for safety, and because of that either each tray needs a bottom or maybe none do. Keeping bottles upside down does allow me to store extra sterilized bottles as I do a dishwasher full (66) at a time. Handy on 10 gallon batches needing 100 bottles.
