BrewHardware sells our own single vessel brewing system but we offer the standard Spike SOLO system as well. Here's what Spike has to say about their system:

Designed to be compact and turn-key, Spike's single-vessel system enables you to brew all-grain while keeping your equipment footprint small. The Solo is easy to clean and operate and comes brew-ready out of the box. And it’s built with the same quality materials, components and standards that you have come to expect from Spike, so you can be confident that it will deliver time and time again on brew day.

Features & Specs:

  • This version of the Spike Solo features TC ports. We also offer the NPT (threaded) port version elsewhere on this site.
  • Solid 304 stainless steel basket.
  • Sanitary welded coupler design (done at Spike's facility in Milwaukee, WI)
  • 1.2mm thick walls
  • Thick stainless steel hooks on basket easily holds wet grain on the kettle lip during vorlauf or while the basket drains
  • Bottom of the basket features precision-lasered slits matching the false bottoms on our commercial brewing systems
  • Basket has tapered design to promote good flow through the grain bed
  • Heated using a powerful 240V element. (we do not recommend trying to use 120 volts on this system)
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENT: You will need a 4-wire, 240/120 volt, 30amp circuit. The receptacle you'll need on the wall is a NEMA 14-30R and a GFCI-protected circuit breaker is highly recommended in your panel. Any licensed electrician will understand that terminology.

You can select which kettle size you would like in the drop-down menu above. Here are the details regarding batch sizes as they correlate to kettle size. Note each time you upsize the kettle to the next size, the price change is about $100. (note that the kettle in the picture below is actually the TC port option but the batch size info is relevant for NPT or TC options)





As you can see above, the system comes with the fully equipped electric kettle, the grain basket, the controller with associated cables and a pair of hoses. The pump and chiller are offered as add-ons/upgrades because you may already have one or both of these or may prefer an alternative option. For example, many people select the Blichmann Riptide pump instead because it offers a few advantages. Other options include using an immersion chiller or a stainless steel counterflow chiller.












We stock some Spike items at our NJ warehouse but most larger orders will be drop shipped directly from Spike. Assume additional lead times outside of our control unless you've called and we confirmed we have stock on a particular item. When you spend $130 on SPIKE items and they are the only thing on the order, you will get free shipping. Any non-Spike items on the order will incur normal shipping charges unless you meet the $299 free shipping threshold.
