This particular pushfit (Duotight brand) fitting has 8mm or 5/16" OD tubing on each side and works with our EVA Barrier tubing or others like Bevseal Ultra 235 or polyethelyne. A check valve only allows flow in one direction, as indicated by the arrow molded into the side of the fitting.
