These nipples are similar to NPT Close Nipples but they have a hex cast in the center so you can use a wrench on them. This economy version of our hex nipples are machined from cast 304 SS and have a medium matte finish on the interior.

Note that we offer hex nipples in 3 varieties; Economy cast, Premium, and Premium Loose. The item you're buying on this page is the ECONOMY HEX in 1/2" NPT (which measures approximately 13/16" across the threads and has a hex flat to flat measurement of 15/16").

This is all explained in excruciating detail below so that there is no confusion.




PLEASE BE AWARE that our series of "Cool Touch" hose connectors are NOT compatible with the economy hex nipples. They only work with either of the premium hex varieties. This only matters if you're buying the nipples specifically for use with those cool touch style connectors.

Its a fitting.  It's an especially nice fitting to use because you can just stick the 1/2" silicon tubing over and it stays put.  You can still pull it off of you want to.
