These Stainless Steel "Cool Touch" fittings are a hybrid between a traditional NPT fitting and a quick disconnect. The female NPT side is cut a little loose so it will fully thread on to any 1/2" male NPT fitting to allow the included captured silicone O-ring to seat and seal. We hesitate to call them quick disconnects because you have to thread them on and off a few rotations just like a garden hose connector, but the one advantage these have is that they don't require a 2-piece design like other disconnect "sets". We call them Cool Touch fittings because the area that you grip to thread the fittings on is wrapped in silicone rubber that doesn't get as hot as the metal.

This particular fitting has a straight 1/2" hose barb on the other end which will accommodate 1/2" ID hoses (and even 3/8" ID silicone stretched over a bit).

I use them to build portable outdoor shower connections that use 1/2" npt hardware and high pressure vinyl hoses. These are the ONLY swivel head  1/2" npt to 1/2" barbed adapters I was able to anywhere online and I'm so glad I did. They are perfection. Please please don't stop making these, or let me know if you ever do so I can stock up. :)

Fits perfectly on my pump and Rims Rocket. Just as described and appears to be very high quality. Tested them yesterday and there were no leaks or issues. Great product!

On first use the rubber grip became loose, becoming difficult to tighten. This affected nearly half of the ones I bought. I will probably replace these with the Blichmann version.

The rubber slides easily so you cannot tighten it very much. Mine is actually stuck on now, as any attempt to unscrew it results in the rubber simply sliding around the metal.
