The 1-1/2" Triclover (TC) weldless bulkhead flange allows you to add a TC port to any tank or kettle with absolutely no welding or soldering. Just drill a hole and tighten the locknut. Done!
The flange measures 2" like all other 1.5" TC ferrules, and the overall length is just under 1". The ID is 1-3/8 just like standard 1.5" weld ferrules. The short length of this ferrule makes it possible to use ripple style heating elements and not have the foldback make contact with the ferrule. These are extremely high quality pieces machined out of 304SS and polished to perfection (except for the locknut which is cast finish 304SS. Let's repeat this since we get the question constantly. YES! Ripple style elements fit into these with NO PROBLEM at all when using the ETC3 Hot Pods as the element housing/adapter.

The silicone O-ring is included and gets captured in a groove like our other True Bulkheads.

This is the STD length version which has enough thread length for wall thickness of up to 1/8" (or 3/16" as long as the install surface is completely flat like a lid). We also have an XL version that can accommodate wall thickness of up to 1/2".

Installation Notes:
  • Hole Size Required - 1-5/8" or 41mm. Note that the most pleasant tool to use for this is a knockout punch set. Since they are extremely cost prohibitive, the next best option is our tungsten carbide hose saw (40mm). After deburring the 40mm hole, the result is a clean 41mm hole. See the accessories column on the right for the bit.
  • The oring contact is on the flange side of the fitting so make sure there are no burrs on that side of the hole.
  • The lock nut hex measures 2-1/16" or 52mm. Turning it with an adjustable wrench does NOT work well. You'll need a socket or a box wrench. Since these tools are very rare, we offer a socket as an accessory. It requires a 1/2" drive ratchet.
  • The front of the flange does not have flats for a wrench. The easiest way to hold the front of the flange for tightening is to clamp any other TC part on with the gasket and clamp (a blank cap works great). Once tight, you can insert a long rod or screw driver into the hole of the wingnut.

We've tested this on a pot measuring as small as 12" in diameter. Anything smaller may work but we don't know for sure. Larger diameters or flat areas are no issue at all.

I've installed these on my used, but new-to-me, brew kettle and hot liquor tank to upgrade them to tri-clamp compatability, and in the flat lid of my older SS Brewtech cronical so that I can attach a spray ball for cleaning in place.

Arrived in a reasonable time.  Just what I ordered.  Works like a charm.  If you are not aware this does not come with a seal.  Order the one you need for either heat or cold application.

I ordered this Triclamp Bulkhead along with installation tools Tungsten Carbide Hole Saw, 40mm  and 52mm Socket Tool, This must be the easiest DIY modification I've ever done, I wanted to mount a CIP ball in the lid of a Blichmann Surface kettle. I clamped the kettle lid in my drill press so it didn't move. The drilling was easy, and required a little deburring with a round file. The bulkhead fit perfectly. I tightened it with the 52mm socket. There were no leaks when I conducted the CIP cleaning. This is a high quality product.
