Adding an icepack is an option that may minimize issues when weather is warm or hot in New Jersey, your state, or anywhere in between. Additionally, you may want to have liquid yeast shipped separately with an express shipping method such as UPS next day if you are outside of UPS one-day ground zones. Orders with liquid yeast, being shipped to areas with longer than 1-2 day shipping, will ship on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Description

From East Flanders, this yeast is versatile in that it can produce low to high gravity Belgian beers up to 12% ABV. A combination of fruitiness and phenolic characteristics dominate the flavor profile. Some sulfur is produced during fermentation, which will dissipate following the end of fermentation. Belgian Ale has a distinct flavor that brewers and enthusiasts love. With our Belgian Ale yeast, your bring out the fruity, phenolic characteristics of your beer's flavor profile.

Introducing PurePitch Next Generation, an evolution of White Labs’ PurePitch® – the most superior and consistent yeast on the market – made even better with new packaging for ease of use, and verifiable quality and consistency to help you make the absolute best beer possible.

A few highlights of the PurePitch Next Generation enhanced packaging:

  • New incorporated handles for ease of usage and storage.
  • New more breathable, proprietary, dual-layer film, allowing more effective off-gassing and reduced package expansion for optimal yeast health.
  • New perfected pitching rates and online calculator at yeastman.com for custom recommendations to achieve perfect fermentation based on beer type, batch size, temperature, and gravity.

Bobby's thoughts: Whitelabs has once again upped the anti on yeast technology. Sure, there are other labs packing 200B cells in a single pack but none of them have Pure Pitch packaging technology. Why does it matter? Traditional yeast packaging tech, such as vials, cans, and smackpacks etc typically lose more than 20% yeast viability per month of cold storage from the date of packaging. Purepitch remains 99% viable. It gets even worse at 3 months. Typical packaging viability goes all the way down to 33% while purepitch is at 91%. There is no practical way to control the age of the pack when you're shopping whether online or in person. Even the best intentioned retailers are forced to sell packs a couple/few months old if they are going to stock the maximum number of strains. Buying yeast with purepitch technology takes out the question of viability off the table so you can plan you pitch rates (or starter sizes) well in advance.
