Description

For providing the keynote flavor in Scotch whisky and other smoked whiskeys. Also excellent for smoked beer styles. 1.5 Lovibond.

Please be careful using this malt in beer recipes. 4 ounces in 5 gallons is about all you should be using MAXIMUM because the smoke flavor is VERY intense.For a moderate smoke level in a pot-distilled Scotch, start at about 25% peat malt and 75% generic 2 row. You can work your way up if you like a really smokey Scotch, but be reserved until you taste it.

Grain is now offered in either pounds or ounces to better accommodate customer needs. Please pay attention to which item you are ordering and select your quantity appropriately. Remember, there are 16 ounces in a pound. Note that 16 x 1 ounces will cost you slightly more than 1 x 1 pound.
