Malt Type: Base Grain Origin: Germany Color: 1.5-2.2 Lovibond (2.5-4.5 EBC) Protein: 10.5-11.5% Moisture: 5% max. Extract (dry): 80.5% min. Diastatic Power: Usage: 100% max. Pilsner malt is a German, lager-style base malt produced from high-quality, 2-row spring barley. It contributes a pale-straw color to wort and adds mild, malty-sweet flavor with gentle notes of honey. A very flexible grain with high extract efficiency, it exhibits excellent lautering properties and yields optimum results for any brewing process from the simplest to the most complicated mashing regimen. Weyermann Pilsner malt also provides the finished beer with substantial body and mouthfeel, as well as good foam development and head retention. Well-suited for use with any beer style, the malt is a particularly good choice for continental or American lagers, non-alcholic or alcohol-reduced beers.


Grain is now offered in either pounds or ounces to better accomodate customer needs. Please pay attention to which item you are ordering and select your quantity appropriately.  Remember, there are 16 ounces in a pound.  Note that 16 x 1 ounces will cost you slightly more than 1 x 1 pound.
