We have these 1/8" thick flat gaskets custom cut and we use them for all bulkheads and make-weldless kits for 1/2" NPT threaded components. These are much more forgiving to over tightening situations where orings would just deform out of position. These are FDA approved for food contact and will withstand temps of up to 400F. Had orings starting to leak and deform.  Read from others that these were a tight fit...and they are.  Put outer ring on and pulled outer edges while pushing down to seat.  Seemed that screwing the inner seal onto the post (after you pry it on) works best.  Keep turning until it is realatively close to the kettle walls.  I hand tightened the nut as much as possible and gave it about another turn with a large wrench.
Filled pots up for testing and noticed 1. no leaks even while moving the valve around to simulate usage and 2. MUCH more stable feel to the valve.  Was kinda loose feeling before because the orings are so soft and you cant tighten them much w/o deforming the oring.  I put a fair bit of torque on these and NO deforming!  I ordered extra in case the tight fit causes wear but I'll take that thight fit over leaks on boil day anyday!

The washers are of great quality, easy to use, and help prevent leaks.  Remember not to over tighten!
