This portable cable is offered for those customers who need to run 4-wire to their 50-amp control panels. Why four wire vs. three? If you want to be able to run your 120v pumps or any other 120v accessories off the same supply, you need hot L1 (Black), hot L2 (red), Neutral (white) and Ground (green). In a 3 wire setup you only have L1, L2, and Ground so you cannot get 120v. Again, this large 6 gauge cable is for supplying 50 amp controllers, typically designed for running dual 5500 watt elements at the same time, between the hardwired circuit receptacle and the control panel. You will likely need a NEMA 14-50P plug to add on to the cable but we do not offer them at this time. The price of this cable is significant savings compared to home center prices if they even offer it at all.
