We have one scale that is very accurate at lower weights for hops and salts, but that one tops out at 1 pound so it's not useful for weighting out base grains. We also have a really nice platform scale with remote screen for weighting out larger quantities of grain with a big bucket on top but that one isn't sensitive enough for hops. To be in full command of your brewing pantry, you really need both of those scales.

However, for the budget conscious brewer, we offer this new scale that sits in between the two ideals. This scale will weigh up to 13 pounds of grain or malt extract as long as you put a tapered bowl on top leaving enough room to read the display (the platform is 6" x 6" square). It will read down to 1 gram and it appears to be accurate down to .1 ounce so it's close enough for hops and perhaps a little less so for salt/mineral additions.

Arrived very fast. Turned it in and tested 100g and 500g calibration weights. Without any adjustment, they read 100g and 500g. Great start!
The scale is sturdy, and the screen has a bright blue backlight. The screen is slightly below the weighing surface, so it can probably be read underneath a large load.
My only two complaints are:
- 9V battery! Yuck! I have tons of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries, but Panasonic doesn't make 9V ones. Had to buy a new brand.
- Viewing angle. Cannot read display from directly above. Not a huge deal for my use case, but caveat emptor.

Great scale to weigh out malt in a single batch. For those that wish to use a reliable AC adapter instead of a dead battery, the scale is 9V DC center positive. I use a  Truetone 1 Spot power supply with a separate center positive converter.  The power supply also has  a  10 foot cord.
