Bobby's thoughts: Whitelabs has once again upped the anti on yeast technology. Sure, there are other labs packing 200B cells in a single pack but none of them have Pure Pitch packaging technology. Why does it matter? Traditional yeast packaging tech, such as vials, cans, and smackpacks etc typically lose more than 20% yeast viability per month of cold storage from the date of packaging. Purepitch remains 99% viable. It gets even worse at 3 months. Typical packaging viability goes all the way down to 33% while purepitch is at 91%. There is no practical way to control the age of the pack when you're shopping whether online or in person.
