This tank requires a trade in of a 19-22 cuft tank (note that Nitro/beer gas tanks are sized in cubic feet, not pounds. A 20ft beer gas tank is approximately the size of a 5LB CO2 tank). If it is one of our own BrewHardware.com branded tanks, we do not question the condition of the incoming tank.

Any tanks coming in from elsewhere (tanks without our branding on it), will be subject to inspection before we accept it as an exchange.
First, it must be aluminum. We are phasing steel tanks out of the system as they expire. You can tell if you have a steel tank because the bottom will usually show rust or it will be very heavy even when empty.
Assuming it is aluminum, the most recent Hydro test date must be less than 5 years ago. if it is out of test, we charge an extra $30 which is what we pay for recertification.

The tank you receive will be filled with 75% Nitrogen and 25% CO2, otherwise known as Beer Gas. It's NOT typically used for cold brew coffee but rather nitrogenated beers like stouts, etc.

The valve must be intact and the tank must not be completely rusty. We reserve the right to refuse a trade in at our discretion.
