Due to popular request, we offer this new HAZY IPA in extract kit form. Jolly Kiwis is an immersion into the bountiful tropical flavors of New Zealand grown hops.
Here is a composite of the typical flavors and aromas of the three varieties of hops contained in this recipe:
Lemon, Lime, Tropical, Passion Fruit, Grapefruit, White Wine
GRANTED, this is a relatively expensive beer kit but there are a few reasons for the higher price. First, we include a LOT of NZ hops, most of which are the CRYO variety for added hop oils with less grassy plant material. We also include a new dry malted oat extract that is a signature component of hazy beers that were previously unattainable in extract brewing. Lastly, an important aspect of good Hazy IPA is no-oxidation damage and to that end, we include bottle priming tablets which are more expensive than a 5oz baggie of corn sugar. The important part is that you're going to be happy with the extra care we've taken to make this beer taste great, even at a slight increase in cost.

Let's have a real talk about this style of beer. It's not easy. You have to do a lot of things right all the way through to prevent ruining the beer with oxygen exposure. Generally the best way to maximize success is to keg the beer using oxygen-free transfers. If you have to bottle condition, the best way to minimize oxygen exposure is to skip racking into a bottling bucket for bulk priming. In this case, we use bottle conditioning tablets added to each bottle and racking directly from the primary into the bottles. Be sure to cap ASAP. This method benefits from having a helper so you can limit the movement of the racking cane/auto siphon to prevent stirring up the sediment in the primary fermenter and someone can quickly crimp the caps for you to limit exposure.
This kit includes 50 bottle caps.
Not included: 6 gallons of distilled or RO water, a 16 quart pot, and some ice for chilling the kettle down after the boil (icewater bath).
. If you must use your tap water, please at least add a small pinch of Potassium Metabisulfite to remove the chlorine.
