This item you're buying is for when you are trading in a Brewhardware.com branded tank OR a NON-BREWHAREDWARE branded 5 pound tank that has good/current testing date; i.e. a date younger than 5 years from today. The testing dates are physically stamped/punched into the metal of the tank near the curved top. The format is MM@YY with @ being some kind of special character that identifies the testing facility. The higher cost for trading in an outside expired tank is due to the fact that we have to ship the tanks out for retesting. We do not profit at all on this service. Once you have a Brewhardware branded tank, you will never have to pay a testing fee again.
