Description

Due to popular request, we are stocking a limited quantity of our integrated ripple elements in a 2" TC flange. Please keep in mind that the only reason to use a 2" instead of the standard 1.5" TC is if your kettle or tank ALREADY has a 2" TC port on it. Repeat: There is no practical reason to proactively install a 2" TC ferrule for an element. 1.5" works perfectly well.

These new elements are pretty slick. The traditional way to get an element into a TC port is to use an adapter such as our Hot Pod ETC which then had to be hardwired to a cord. These Ripple TC elements don't have screw in bases but are welded right to a 1.5" TC flange. Not only that, but the electrical connection is made by integrated NEMA L6-30P blades. You can twist an L6-30R cord end right on. This gives you the ability to disconnect at the pot rather than drag the cord around.

You will need a 2" TC port on your kettle. 2" TC measures about 2.5" actual diameter. If your port measures 2" exactly, that would be called a 1.5" TC.

Element length is approximately 14.25" Long to the TC flange.

Everything is 304 High polish stainless steel. This element should NOT be powered up in open air.

It is extremely important that you consult with an electrical professional for advice or wiring help. Under no circumstances should these be used without proper wiring, ground fault circuit protection, over current circuit protection. We are not licensed electricians so we cannot provide wiring advice.

Note that you should take extra care to ensure good electrical conductivity between the element prongs and the female cord end. Since these are used in often moist environments are are stored in garages and basements, some light oxidation may build up on the prongs over time and it can be hard to see. We recommend occasionally scuffing up the prongs with some 100 grit sandpaper, emory cloth, emory board, etc and wiping the dust off with alcohol about every 4-6 months. Failure to do this may result in an overheat situation at the electrical connection which may cause the cord end to melt in worst case scenarios. This failure is not very common, but like dry firing damage, it is not covered under the 1 year warranty.
