The Hop Bong is a versatile pressurizable tri-clamp accessory, capable of dry hopping oxygen purged hops into fermenters. This particular sized tri-clamp Hop Bong was designed for fermenters with a 2" T.C. lid port (actual flange diameter of 2.5") but after attaching a 2" Butterfly valve we reduce it down to 1.5" for connection to your fermenter lid. The advantage of using this larger 2" TC version of the hop bong is that it will hold more hops than the 1.5" version and hop pellets are much less likely to get stuck bridges across the butterfly valve than it is on the 1.5" butterfly valves. The bell reducer below this 2" valve is usually not a problem at all.
The side port features PCO1881 male threads ( just like 1 and 2 liter soda bottles). We include a ball lock gas fitting that threads on to this side port which will allow you to purge your hops before dropping by flushing them with CO2. Note that pushing the CO2 in at the base of the hop dropper and venting at the top is a superior design contrasted against the designs that have the CO2 in and out at the very top of the contraption.
Everything in the picture is included. YOU supply the 1.5" TC clamp and gasket to secure the assembly to your fermenter.

Hop Pellet Capacity: 150–180g (5.2–6.3 oz)
Usage: With the butterfly valve still closed, spritz or fill the top of the valve with starsan for a few minutes, then sop it up completely with paper towels. Attach bong assembly, fill with hops and clamp the 2" TC adapter on the top. With the top black twist cap left loose, hook up a CO2 source at approximately 1 PSI or less and let it flood and purge the hops for 1 full minute. Tighten the top cap hand tight. If your fermenter is currently under pressure, increase your CO2 regulator pressure to match the pressure of the fermenter. Very slowly open the butterfly valve to ensure equalized pressures, then open it fully to drop hops. Close the butterfly valve once again. You can repeat the process by removing the top TC and refilling with more hops if necessary. Don't forget to repurge it. Alternatively, you can clamp on a 2" TC x 6" or 12" SPOOL to the top of the bong to add more "single-drop" capacity.
