When you remove your beer faucet from the front of a beer shank, you can substitute in this adapter in place of the faucet. The typical usage is to pump cleaning into the shank and lines or to jump one shank to another to create a cleaning loop while you clean the faucets in a bucket elsewhere.

This is ONE method of cleaning lines, but not the only way or even necessarily the best way.
