You have an RO system that makes about 3 gallons an hour and you're trying to figure out how to collect 10 gallons without overflowing a bucket. A lot of people spend a ton of money on high volume bladder tanks for this purpose only to find out that they contribute an unacceptable amount of rubber flavors into the water. Others will buy a big food grade barrel and use a pump to move the water to the brew kettle. All of these solutions are missing the most obvious choice: collect your brewing water directly INSIDE your brewing vessels. BOOM! Mind blown, am I right?
Great but you don't want to overflow your kettle when you forget that the water is slowly trickling in. The solution is a very simple float valve. RO systems are designed to shut off production when the output reaches a certain pressure. We are offering this height adjustable float valve assembly that clamps on to the edge of your brewing kettle. Set the float to the height where you want the filling to stop. This is really simple when your kettle has etched gallon markings on it.
All RO systems, or most anyway, have a 1/4" polyethylene tube coming out of the system so the input into the float is a 1/4" push fit. Just push your tubing in. It is recommended that you have an inline shutoff valve on your RO system output so you can keep that closed in between uses. Simple set your float height, then turn the output valve on and your kettle starts filling. To make this process much easier for you, we've put together an option install kit. To better understand the purpose of the fittings, keep in mind that if you wish to maintain the use of your RO system's small pressure storage tank and drinking water faucet, we insert a tee between the RO system and those devices. Additionally we include a one way "check valve" so once the RO water has filled the pressure tank, it will not flow back into your kettle float supply tubing. In other words, your brew kettle will fill directly from real time RO water production and you'll still be able to access drinking water from the pressure tank. If we didn't do this, you'd empty the entire pressure tank into your kettle. We give you the option to select how long the supply tubing needs to be to get from your RO system to the kettle.
