Description   This little suspicious baggie of white powder is for folks who know their brewing water is unsuitable for brewing all grain but don't have enough time to figure out how to fix it. Get yourself some distilled or Reverse Osmosis water and dump the powder in. These salts are a combination of Gypsum, Calcium Chloride, and Magnesium Sulfate at a dosage that will create the minimum recomended level of Calcium for good mash conversion in 6-9 gallons of water (typical for a 5 gallon batch). We currently offer two different formulas; one is suitable for well balanced beers from malty to mildly hoppy and the second is designed to accentuate hops in hop-forward beer styles like American Pale Ale, IPA, Double IPA, and Saison. Select them in the option dropdown above. For emphasis, these salts are meant to be added to mashes that use 100% RO or Distilled water. Do not use it for tap water or spring water. If you are brewing amber to black beers, generally you do not need to worry about adding any acid to your mash. If your target color is golden to extremely light, consider dosing your brewing water with 2-4 ml of lactic acid OR include 2oz of Acidulated malt in your grain bill.
