Description
Audience:
This seminar is designed for individuals who are interested in learning about making home brewed beer but have either never done it before or perhaps have only made a batch or two on a department store style kit like "Mr. Beer" or similar kits.
Purpose:
To give participants a general understanding of the homebrewing hobby to help determine if it warrants further investment and pursuit.
Content:
This is a seminar style class with an ongoing Q&A dialog. A batch of beer will not be brewed but all steps of the process will be discussed and/or simulated when appropriate. Questions answered:
What is Beer?
Is it legal?
How long does it take?
What kind of equipment do you need? We will show you several different options.
How much does it cost (upfront, ongoing)?
How is the style of beer affected by ingredients?
What determines the strength (alcohol percentage)?
What is the basic process and timeline from brewing to drinking.
In summary, these are all questions that a non-brewing, walk-in customer would typically ask as they browse the store. It is our intention to refer those customers to this seminar so that they can get all the answers along with their peers when the shop is quiet.
We will also review the typical instructions for a brewing kit to be sure participants understand what the steps are, demonstrate proper liquid transfer/racking, sanitizing and bottling techniques.
Extras:
Attendees of this class will receive 10% off their first purchase to be used either the same day or up to a week in the future. This is most logically used if the attendee decides to purchase a beginner equipment and/or ingredients kit. This discount may NOT be used for advanced equipment such as conical fermenters.
Schedule:
We plan to have run this particular class once every six weeks, though there may be some breaks depending on demand. The available dates, if already scheduled will be listed as a drop down option above the "add to cart" button. If there are no sessions scheduled, it will say "no sessions available at this time".
Runtime:
The class is planned for 1 hour of presentation with additional 30 minutes allotted for Q&A.
Policy:
The person making the purchase is assumed to be the attendee. If you are purchasing a reservation for someone else, or a quantity greater than one, please type in the attendee names in the comment box during checkout. You may cancel your reservation via email or phone up to 24 hours prior to the session and store credit will be issued. You may use that store credit for merchandise or a reservation for a different session in the future. Brewhardware LLC reserves the right to cancel any session for any reason, providing notification to reserved attendees via email or phone at least 12 hours in advance. If we cancel, the reservation fee is refunded or applied to a future class.
Spots must be reserved 24 hours prior to the session start time. If the session remains unbooked at that time, or we book fewer than 3 attendess, it will be canceled.
