A Sweet Stout, also known as a "milk stout" due to the inclusion of Lactose sugar derived from dairy, is a perfect base to layer dessert-like flavors on to. Make no mistake, this is not a sugar bomb recipe because we generally don't chase gimmicks around here. This still has the soul of an actual beer flavored beer but with overtones of your favorite chocolate and peanut butter candies in the orange wrapper.

Sweet stout has a nice semi-sweet malty flavor with muted hop bitterness and and moderately high mouthfeel from the unfermentable lactose. Expect some roast and chocolate flavors lingering into the finish, but nothing too harsh.
