NOTE: We rarely stock more than a single lid in each size. If SPIKE has been out of stock on any particular lid for more than a couple days, it is VERY likely that we do not have one and your order will be drop shipped when spike's stock returns.BrewHardware sells our own steam condensing system (not a replacement lid design) but we also strive to offer Spike's full line of products so we present the Spike product as an option. Here's what Spike has to say about their system (not our words):Built to transform steam into liquid during the boil, our steam condenser lid will enable you to brew inside without worrying about moisture collecting on your walls and ceiling, which can cause mold issues. These lids are not only designed to fit Spike kettles, but will also work with most other kettle brands on the market.
From a better boil-off rate to major cost savings and conveniences, you will find many benefits by adding this to your brew setup.
Features & Specs:
We are constantly asked how the BrewHardware Steam Slayer(tm) product differs from the Spike Condenser Lid product. In a nutshell:Steam Slayer is designed for city or well water pressure (40-80psi) rather than a submersible pump.Steam Slayer is generally less expensive because it requires a TC port to be added to your existing kettle lid or directly into the sidewall of your kettle.Hop additions with the Steam Slayer require tipping open your kettle lid as there is no dedicated port for it.That's about it. They both perform the same function in the end.
