Chill your wort without worrying about your hop additions clogging up the works! This HUGE counterflow heat exchanger is made from fully passivated 304 stainless steel with 1.5" TC (sanitary) connections on the wort side and 1/2" BSP on the cooling ports. Plate chillers are great for their high efficiency and compact size, but if there's too much hop matter in the wort running through them they can quickly clog up. Transferring wort from your kettle to your fermenter is one of the critical steps in the brewing process where you don't want any hiccups. This stainless wort chiller can withstand high hop additions without clogging issues and has a higher chemical resistance than copper chillers.
We really like using Camlock on the water side. A pair of Cam A on the chiller's water ports and then use the CamGHD on your input garden hose and the CAMGHB on the output garden hose.The total length is approximately 30 feet. The inner core wort tubing is 1/2" OD with 7/16" ID for faster flow.You see these types of chillers in both copper and stainless steel so what's the difference? Copper is a MUCH more efficient cooling substrate but can corrode over time. Stainless is slower at cooling but will theoretically last much longer with no corrosion. In both cases, don't leave water inside them and especially do not let them freeze or the tubing can burst.
