Description

ESB, otherwise known as a strong bitter is a distinctly English beer. You can grab a pint of this in any pub in London for instance. The name "strong bitter" is a little misleading because it's only about 5.5% ABV but it's the strongest version of this particular style. It's also not particularly bitter in the range of beer styles out there but it was definitely more assertive in hops than the common regional Porters.

Bottom line, this is highly drinkable beer with a moderate malt and hop flavor along with the fruity ester character that comes from English yeast fermented at "room temp".

Requires a 16 quart boil kettle minimum, and the ability to hold the fermenter at 68-72F

Included with the kit, malt extracts, steeping grains (if applicable), steeping bag, hops, 1 pack of yeast, priming sugar, 50 bottle caps. Not included: Bottles, 6 gallons of RO or Distilled water.

Makes 5 gallons of finished, packaged beer.
