Description

If you bought a pot with a welded coupling for the drain ball valve, installing this diptube on the inside will help you drain most of the liquid out and this new version will get amazingly close to the sidewall of the pot to avoid most of the trub (especially if you whirlpool).

Options:
The base item inclues the 5/8" OD tube bent at a 135 degree angle, the retaining nut with 1/2" Female NPT, and a sealing oring. You will select this unit if you have MALE threads on the inside of your kettle. This configuration will also work with our TrueBulkheadMale unit.

If your kettle has 1/2" FEMALE NPT threads on the inside YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO PURCHASE the Premium Hex Nipple as shown in the accessories on the right. It works best if your female threaded port is flush with the inside wall of the kettle. This gets the open end of the tube right in to the corner.

MAY NEED TRIMMING in some pots. The main picture shows the unit installed in a BrewBuilt pot and it did not need trimming.

Note that the tubing portion of this diptube is really big. The OD is 5/8" and the ID is 9/16" for superior flow compared to all the other "maximizers" you find available.

Really well constructed March 31, 2019

Fits perfectly against the inside of the kettle.  All you need are the 1/2” threads to screw the diptube on.  The diameter of the tube is large enough to allow for a consistent flow.

great for converted keg March 14, 2019

got this for my keggle and it works better than my original dip tube because it is not pulling from the middle of the boil kettle. this helps leave more trub in the middle of the kettle and not in my fermentor. works even better after a whirlpool.

Caution for keggles November 24, 2018
Reviewer: Vince from Buffalo, NY
I have a keggle and use a mesh bag hung/clipped to the side/lid. The poor mans hop spider, but it works. I also have a copper tube that extends directly into the center bottom of the keggle, and only leave around 1/2 cup in the bottom of the keggle.

I bought this with the intention of using it with the Spincycle, but this pickup tube leaves almost a full gallon in the keggle. I wasn't comfortable with that high of a loss, so I haven't used it with a full batch yet.

I found another that supposedly only leaves 0.5 gallon, so I'm going to try that first.

Looks like a good product, and Brew Hardware has awesome stuff, just not sure I'd recommend for a keggle.
