We will not replace or refund shipped liquid yeast that arrives warm/hot under any circumstances. Adding an icepack is an option that may minimize issues when weather is warm or hot in New Jersey, your state, or anywhere in between. Additionally, you may want to have liquid yeast shipped separately with an express shipping method such as UPS next day if you are outside of UPS one-day ground zones. Orders with liquid yeast, being shipped to areas with longer than 1-2 day shipping, will ship on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Gulo Ale is the latest creation to emerge from the curious minds of our R&D team.

The progeny of Irish Ale (OYL-005) and French Saison (OYL-026), this true genetic hybrid is a beast at devouring sugars, which creates a very dry beer without any of the peppery, clove phenolics associated with saisons and Belgian ales.

Expect a citrus-forward aroma with hints of peach and a clean finish. Gulo Ale excels in any style where a high level of attenuation is desired without phenolics. We love using it in an IPA (including a brut IPA), stout, or Bière de Garde. Non-phenolic.

This strain tests positive for the STA1 gene, an indicator of Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. diastaticus, and is capable of fermenting dextrins, resulting in very high attenuation. The hybrids in this strain catalog were invented by Omega Yeast as the result of years of research and development.

All packs now contain 150 mL of yeast slurry to enhance the brewer's experience! For the convenience of your customers, pack height and width will not change. The pack's "gusset" accommodates the additional volume without increasing the pack's dimensions. With the increase of yeast per pack, you will notice updated pricing.


We do our best to insulate liquid yeast packs in a bubble wrap envelope but you'll have a much better chance of viability if you select an ice pack in the accessory list. During cooler months, a single ice pack is enough for up to three packs of yeast. In the summer, you may want several ice packs for a single pack of yeast and coordinate the shipping with us to avoid long periods in a delivery truck.
