Description

If you don't have anything on your kettle and you want an easily removable element, this kit is for you.

See the list of included parts.

What this kit does NOT come with, but you will likely need, will be found in the optional accessories list on the right. 40mm hole saw, big socket to tighten the nut on the weldless TC flange, and some kind of 10 gauge cable with L6-30R on the end. We have several appropriate cables available.

Getting the TC port in your pot:
The 1-1/2" Triclover (TC) weldless bulkhead flange allows you to add a TC port to any tank or kettle with absolutely no welding or soldering. Just drill a hole and tighten the locknut. Done!

Installation Notes:
  • Hole Size Required - 1-5/8" or 41mm. Note that the most pleasant tool to use for this is a knockout punch set. Since they are extremely cost prohibitive, the next best option is our tungsten carbide hose saw (40mm). After deburring the 40mm hole, the result is a clean 41mm hole. See the accessories column on the right for the bit.
  • The oring contact is on the flange side of the fitting so make sure there are no burrs on that side of the hole.
  • The lock nut hex measures 2-1/16" or 52mm. Turning it with an adjustable wrench does NOT work well. You'll need a socket or a box wrench. Since these tools are very rare, we offer a socket as an accessory. It requires a 1/2" drive ratchet.
  • The front of the flange does not have flats for a wrench. The easiest way to hold the front of the flange for tightening is to clamp any other TC part on with the gasket and clamp (a blank cap works great). Once tight, you can insert a long rod or screw driver into the hole of the wingnut.

Element length is approximately 14.25" Long to the TC flange. With the added 1/2" from the TC flange, your pot must be at least 14" in diameter.

Everything is 304 High polish stainless steel.

These are made in China. Warranty is 3 months from date of purchase and does NOT cover damage due to dry firing. These elements must be submerged in liquid any time power is applied.

It is extremely important that you consult with an electrical professional for advice or wiring help. Under no circumstances should these be used without proper wiring, ground fault circuit protection, over current circuit protection. 5 of 5 Nice Heating Element May 31, 2023

Seems well built.  Installed nicely and seems to be working as expected after a couple trial runs with just water to tune PID loop and test boil.

5 of 5 Must have for electronic brewing July 10, 2020
Reviewer: Josh Brockett from Clovis, CA United States
I ordered 2 of these to upgrade my Keggles. One went into my HLT and the other in my Kettle. My HLT I have to fill up to 14g to completely submerge my HERMS coil. With my brew commander (bought from brew hardware *****) and 240V power it heated that water in the HLT and my mash water recirculating through the HERMS, to 168f in 1h15min. That’s fast! If I add a whirlpool to the HLT I’m sure it will be faster (45-50min). When I transferred the wort to the kettle the temp was around 165f. The element heated to a boil in 20min.
Cleaning is easy either leave in place and heat up PBW or simply slide it out and scrub it for a deep clean.
Installation was easy make sure you pick a flat surface on the pot drill you hole and the bulkhead I held by hand and I also purchased the 52mm socket and tightened from the inside by hand. No leaks!
Highly recommended

5 of 5 Best investment I've made September 23, 2018
Reviewer: Andrew Schanhofer from Sparta, WI United States
I brew 10 gal batches in kegs and burn through a ton of propane. After realizing I could add 2 30 amp outlets (1 for boil, 1 for HLT in a HERMS system) and go electric, I bit the bullet and did it. I will never go back to propane, these things are insane. Tap water comes out at 70, up to 160 for strike water in 15 minutes(8-9 gal). From sprage temp (~150) to boil in just under 20 minutes (12gal). Awesome rolling boiling, and no leaks at all. Do yourself a favor and get the carbide bit and socket to tighten, worth the extra money for how easy everything goes once its drilled and sealed. Saved at least an hour of waiting time between heating up strike/sprage water and boil kettle wort, more than worth the money.
